# Deposit bonuses

> How Lemma calculates and pays deposit bonuses on your bank account balance.

Lemma is not a bank. Banking services are provided by Core Bank, Member FDIC,
our banking partner. Because Lemma is not a bank, we pay a "deposit bonus"
rather than "interest".

## How the deposit bonus accrues

The deposit bonus accrues daily at an annual rate of 1.75%<sup>1</sup>, based on your account's balance at the end of each day. Daily accrual is calculated at east coast midnight (UTC-5).

## When the deposit bonus is paid

Accrued deposit bonus amounts are totaled and paid into your account on the 1st of each month, covering the prior month's accrual.

negotiated contract with Lemma, in which case you can see your active rate on
the account page.
